The customary blessing ceremony for the new school year at the renovated schools of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus was held Friday morning by Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus. This year, however, pupils will attend classes in the renovated building, which was renovated following a donation by Evangelos Marinakis.
Classrooms, restrooms and sports facilities have been upgraded, while the overall appearance of the school has been transformed and its technological equipment modernized.
Metropolitan Seraphim conducted the blessing ceremony at the schools of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus. The ceremony was followed by the inauguration of the fully renovated facilities, made possible by the generous contribution of Evangelos Marinakis, described as a major benefactor of the Piraeus Metropolis and its schools.
The donation enabled work to be carried out at an intensive pace across all three levels of education. The buildings were transformed, while the bathrooms, classrooms and sports facilities were renovated and technological equipment upgraded.

“This is something we have been waiting for 30 whole years, with much prayer and great perseverance. At this moment, we are witnessing the fulfillment of a request to God that inspired our dear president, Mr. Evangelos Marinakis, to carry out this major project,” Metropolitan Seraphim said.
