Μake us preferred on Google Turkey stepped up military activity over the eastern Aegean on Friday, Greek with six F-16s and three UAVs recording 10 violations of Greek airspace and 10 infringements of air-traffic rules in the Athens FIR.
The Turkish aircraft operated over the northeastern, central and southeastern Aegean. Four of the F-16s were armed, reports state.
Two incidents developed into encounters between Turkish and Greek aircraft, while all 10 airspace violations were attributed to the Turkish F-16s.
The Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA), in a statement, said the Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules and established procedures.
Despite periodic tensions, Athens and Ankara have maintained diplomatic channels aimed at preventing military incidents from escalating.
