The City of Athens is set to open registrations for its 2026 summer camps, with applications beginning online on May 20 for elementary school children born between 2014 and 2019.
The camps, organized through the city’s Culture, Sports and Youth Organization (OPANDA), will run from June 16 to July 24 at sports centers in Goudi, Rouf and Grava. Registration will be handled through the online platform opandacamps.gr, with spots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parents will be able to create accounts on the platform starting May 19, while applications officially open at 10 a.m. on May 20.
Athens Mayor Haris Doukas said the program aims to provide children with “a summer full of movement, creativity and new experiences,” combining sports, educational activities and social interaction.
The camps will include a wide range of Olympic and team sports, such as swimming, basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, track and field, table tennis and self-defense classes. Educational games and creative activities will also take place daily in indoor facilities.
A specialized inclusion program for high-functioning individuals with disabilities will operate at the Goudi sports center as part of OPANDA’s existing support initiatives.
Each sports center will host up to 220 children per session, with participants allowed to enroll in up to three separate periods. The camps will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three camp sessions are scheduled as follows:
- June 16–26, 2026
- June 29–July 10, 2026
- July 13–24, 2026
Children attending the camps will receive a daily snack package including juice, a sandwich and bottled water. Organizers will also provide medical and insurance coverage for all participants.
Priority will be given to residents of the Athens municipality, while remaining places may later become available to families living outside the city limits.
Parents whose applications are accepted will receive further instructions by email regarding the submission of required documents, including proof of residence and a pediatric medical certificate.
