A confrontation between the drivers of a car and a motorcycle escalated into a chase and violent fight in western Athens late Thursday, leaving one person injured and resulting in five police detentions.
The incident began at the intersection of Petrou Ralli and Kifisou avenues, where the two drivers exchanged insults for an unknown reason.
The situation quickly escalated, with the car pursuing the motorcycle as the confrontation continued into Korydallos, near Eleftherias Square.
The confrontation continued at the intersection of Petrou Ralli and Kekropos streets, where the motorcycle blocked the car’s path. The car then collided with the motorcycle, sending it into a utility pole.
A second motorcycle arrived at the scene a few minutes later. Its rider attacked the driver of the car, striking him in the head.
The rider of the first motorcycle was injured in the collision and was taken by an ambulance operated by Greece’s National Emergency Aid Center (EKAV) to Tzaneio Hospital.
Police made a total of five detentions in connection with the incident.
