Czech Woman Rescued After Falling into Piraeus Port Waters

A 45-year-old visitor was pulled safely from the sea by Greek Coast Guard officers and taken to hospital for precautionary medical checks, while authorities investigate the circumstances of the incident

A 45-year-old Czech woman was rescued after falling into the sea at the port of Piraeus, Greece, under circumstances that remain unclear.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon near Gate E8 of the port, causing concern among people in the area.

Members of the Greek Coast Guard who were at the scene immediately responded. Officers threw a lifebuoy to the woman and guided her toward the pier, where they were able to safely pull her out of the water.

Woman taken to hospital for precautionary checks

After being rescued, the woman was taken to the local Coast Guard facility at Tzelepis Port Unit, where she received first aid.

She was then transported by ambulance to the Attikon General Hospital in Athens for precautionary medical examinations and further care.

According to available information, her health condition is not considered a cause for concern.

A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Central Port Authority of Piraeus to determine what led to the incident.
