A Greek-flagged tourist vessel carrying 12 people collided with a fishing boat while the fisherman was anchored and fishing.
The impact completely destroyed the fishing vessel, causing it to sink, while the fisherman was left fighting for his life in the water.
Fortunately, a Hellenic Coast Guard patrol boat that was operating in the area and conducting inspections of fishing vessels rescued the fisherman unharmed from the sea.
The fisherman claims that he noticed the tourist vessel heading toward him in time, shouted and tried to warn those on board, but the tourist boat did not alter its course.
