Fatal Crash in Kallithea Kills Motorcyclist, Injures Woman

A 28-year-old rider lost control at high speed on Thisseos Avenue, struck a 72-year-old pedestrian, and was killed after slamming into a parked car

A traffic accident that left one person dead and one injured occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 4, on Thisseos Avenue in Kallithea.

The moment a 72-year-old woman paused to cross the street was captured on surveillance footage. A white van ahead of her turned at an intersection, and she began crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing. At that point, a motorcycle lost control and struck her.

In the footage obtained by MEGA television, the 28-year-old rider can be seen traveling at very high speed along Thisseos Avenue in the direction of Moschato. He hit the elderly woman before continuing out of control all the way to a traffic light.

The woman collapsed onto the ground as a deafening crash rang out from the impact. Passersby can be heard shouting and running to help both the 72-year-old and the motorcyclist.

The 28-year-old rider was dragged along the road for several meters before slamming into a parked vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries and dying at the scene.

The woman is currently hospitalized and is not in critical condition.
