A woman was struck by a truck on the morning of Thursday, May 14, at the intersection of Irakleiou Avenue and Orfanidou Street in the Patisia neighborhood of Athens.
According to ERT, initial reports indicated that the woman sustained fatal injuries from the force of the impact.
An ambulance from EKAV (the National Emergency Medical Service) rushed to the scene and transported her to the KAT hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Traffic police officers arrived at the scene immediately and are conducting an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident.
According to available information, the woman who lost her life was 79 years old.
