According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), strong northerly to northeasterly winds are sweeping across the region. Wind speeds have reached Force 8 on the Beaufort scale across much of the Aegean, with gusts locally reaching Force 9, creating hazardous conditions for maritime navigation.
Ferry Services by Port
Authorities said the situation varies by port:
- Rafina and Lavrio: All ferry departures remain suspended until 7:00 p.m.
- Piraeus: Ferry services have not been suspended across the board. Departures are operating at the discretion of each vessel’s captain and in coordination with the relevant port authorities.
- Saronic Gulf: Ferry routes to the Saronic Gulf islands are operating as scheduled.
