Greece Opens 1,000 Jobs for Unemployed College Graduates

Applicants ages 25 to 54 can apply for 12-month positions with Greece’s Public Employment Service, with gross monthly pay of up to €1,250 depending on their educational background.

Greece’s Public Employment Service (DYPA) is accepting applications for 1,000 jobs aimed at unemployed university and technical college graduates ages 25 to 54.

The deadline to submit an application is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

The program, formally titled the “Special Employment Program for 1,000 Unemployed Graduates of Higher Education Institutions,” seeks to directly address unemployment among registered higher-education graduates listed in DYPA’s Digital Unemployment Registry.

Who can apply

The program is open to unemployed graduates of higher education institutions, including university and technological education graduates, who:

  • Are between 25 and 54 years old, inclusive
  • Are registered in DYPA’s Digital Unemployment Registry
  • Have completed a Digital Individual Action Plan

Those selected will work at DYPA for 12 months.

Gross monthly pay will be €1,250 for university-level graduates and €1,200 for technological-education graduates.

Applications must be submitted exclusively online through DYPA’s application platform.

Each applicant may submit one application only, selecting one educational category — university (PE) or technological education (TE) — one specialty and one placement service.

How applicants will be selected

Candidates will be ranked based on a combination of criteria, including:

  • The length of their continuous registered unemployment, up to a maximum of 18 months
  • The number of minor children, up to a maximum of five
  • Whether they have minor children with disabilities
  • More than 12 months of professional experience
  • Completion of one certified training program
  • Holding a postgraduate degree, regardless of field of study
  • An individual structured interview

The selection system uses points awarded according to these criteria. It also determines any supporting documents that applicants must provide and establishes procedures for checking those documents.

Candidates will then be scored, ranked and placed in corresponding positions using computerized software.
