Μake us preferred on Google Greek police have released the identity and photograph of a 43-year-old fugitive believed to be linked to the murder of Vangelis Zampounis in the Athens district of Neos Kosmos.
The suspect has been identified as Shokpa Alexey, son of Arkadi and Nadejda, who was born in Russia. According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), an arrest warrant has been issued for him, and he is considered a key suspect in the fatal shooting of Zampounis.
Zampounis was killed in the early hours of January 14, 2024, outside a gas station in Neos Kosmos, a neighborhood south of central Athens.
Police Appeal for Public Assistance
Police believe the 43-year-old may have links to a criminal organization. Authorities said the decision to publish his personal details and photograph was made to advance the investigation into the murder and to assist in examining any other criminal offenses he may have committed.
The Hellenic Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the Homicide and Personal Liberty Crimes Department of the Sub-Directorate for Crimes Against Life and Property.
