A man was arrested after breaching a police roadblock at the site of a helicopter crash in Psatha, western Attica, where access remains restricted until the completion of the investigation.
The man, who is the brother of a deputy mayor, attempted to drive through the blocked-off area despite police instructions to stop. According to authorities, an argument followed, after which he accelerated his vehicle and, a short distance later, struck the helicopter wreckage.
The road in Psatha remains closed because it is considered part of the crash scene and must remain undisturbed until police investigations are completed.
Forensic team examines impact site
A team from the Police Directorate of Criminal Investigations was sent to the location to photograph and document the point of impact and determine whether the collision caused any movement or alteration of evidence from the helicopter debris.
The man was arrested under the procedure for offenses caught in the act and is facing charges of disobedience and entering a restricted area under police protection.
