A 30-year-old foreign national faces charges of sexual assault against minors following an incident on a Dodecanese ferry

Officers from the Kos Port Authority arrested a 30-year-old foreign national following a complaint about an indecent assault on minors that allegedly took place aboard a passenger and vehicle ferry while it was sailing from another island in the Dodecanese toward Kos.

According to information cited by the Rhodes-based outlet “Dimokratiki,” the 30-year-old is charged with sexual assault against minors. The case was initiated after a formal complaint was filed against him, as he is alleged to have committed indecent acts of a sexual nature against minors while the vessel was underway.

Upon the ship’s arrival at port, officers from the Kos Port Authority moved swiftly to arrest him, following established procedures to ensure a thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The following morning, when the vessel reached its final destination, a lawful search was conducted on the vehicle the 30-year-old had been using. The search was carried out with the assistance of a drug-detection dog, in the presence of officers from the competent Security Office and the Regional Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

The results of the search came back negative, as no prohibited substances were found. The preliminary investigation into the case has been assigned to the relevant Port Station, which is gathering the necessary evidence to build a complete criminal case file.
