A 50-year-old man was hospitalized following a violent altercation in Thessaloniki after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 29-year-old woman inside his home, according to police and local media reports.

The incident took place in the eastern part of the city when the woman and her 29-year-old partner visited the residence of the suspect.

According to the reported account, the woman went to the bathroom during the visit, where the 50-year-old allegedly attacked her. He is accused of tearing her blouse and touching her chest while she called for help.

Partner Intervenes

The woman’s partner, who was in another room, reportedly heard the commotion and rushed to assist her.

According to the same reports, a confrontation immediately followed. The suspect allegedly initiated the physical attack, leading to a violent fight between the two men.

During the altercation, both individuals sustained injuries while using objects found at the scene, including a pastry spatula and a metal pipe.

Police said the 50-year-old was transported by ambulance to a hospital in the city, where he remains under police guard while receiving treatment.
