Man Charged With Murder Over Fatal Thessaloniki Incident

A 38-year-old suspect remains in custody after prosecutors filed charges in connection with the death of a 67-year-old man, while additional drug-related charges have also been brought.

Prosecutors have charged a 38-year-old man with intentional homicide following the death of a 67-year-old man in Thessaloniki.

The suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal incident and now faces a murder charge, according to judicial authorities.

Suspect’s Account

According to information that emerged during the investigation, the accused reportedly claimed that he and the victim had used narcotic substances together on Friday evening.

He allegedly told investigators that the 67-year-old man collapsed to the floor at some point during the evening and that he attempted to provide assistance.

Additional Drug Charges

In addition to the homicide charge, prosecutors have filed misdemeanor charges related to the supply and possession of narcotic substances for personal use.

The 38-year-old has been referred to an investigating judge and is expected to request, and receive, additional time before giving formal testimony next week.

Until his testimony takes place, the suspect will remain in custody.
