Large parts of the Athens metropolitan area are experiencing planned power outages today as electricity network maintenance works take place across the region.
The scheduled disruptions affect numerous neighborhoods in central Athens as well as suburban districts, with power cuts starting as early as 08:00 in the morning and, in some cases, lasting until late afternoon.
In the city center, several streets are impacted for varying time slots, while similar outages have been announced in residential areas across the wider urban area. Districts such as Zografou, Chalandri, Kallithea and Glyfada are among those affected, along with parts of Piraeus and other northern and southern suburbs.
The outages are part of routine infrastructure works on the electricity grid, aimed at maintaining and improving network reliability. However, residents and businesses are advised to plan ahead, as the interruptions may affect daily activities such as remote work, cooking, and the use of electrical appliances.
