The weather in Greece will turn unstable in the coming days, with local showers expected despite warm daytime temperatures.

From tomorrow, Monday, September 8, skies will be partly cloudy with alternating sunny spells across most regions. Local showers and brief storms are expected in mountainous inland areas, from Macedonia in the north down to the Peloponnese in the south, especially in the afternoon. Conditions will improve by evening, with clearer skies overnight.

Temperatures will remain steady, reaching 31–33°C in mainland areas. Cooler conditions are expected in the Aegean islands, where highs will peak around 28°C, while southern Crete and Rhodes may reach up to 31°C.

Winds will blow strongly from the north in the Aegean, reaching 6 to 7 on the Beaufort scale, while in the Ionian Sea winds will be milder at 3–4 Beaufort.

  • Athens (Attica): Mostly sunny throughout the day, with temperatures between 22–32°C. Northerly winds at 3–5 Beaufort, stronger in eastern areas up to 6.
  • Thessaloniki: Mainly clear, with occasional clouds and isolated showers in nearby mountains during the afternoon. Temperatures between 21–32°C. Light variable winds, turning southerly later in the day.

  • Wednesday: Similar conditions, with plenty of sunshine and scattered clouds at midday. A slight temperature rise is expected, with highs of 32–34°C. Northerly winds will persist, up to 4 Beaufort in the Ionian and 4–6 Beaufort in the Aegean.
