The Greek Police (EL.AS.) has released the names and photographs of three people accused of defrauding elderly victims, following a prosecutor’s order.
According to police, the suspects posed as accountants or employees of an electricity company to gain access to their victims and steal cash and jewelry in several parts of Greece.
The investigation into their activity was completed on July 23, 2026, by the Piraeus Subdirectorate for Prosecution.
Criminal charges were filed against the three for robbery, an aggravated theft offense involving stolen property worth more than €120,000, committed by two or more people acting together and repeatedly, as well as joint fraud and joint embezzlement.

The three suspects
Police identified the suspects as:
- Ioannis Stavrou, son of Alexandra and of unknown father, born August 29, 1982, in Athens.
- Ioannis Angelopoulos, son of Vasileios and Evangelia, born May 22, 1985, in Nikaia, Attica.
- Panagiotis Dimitriou, son of Maria and of unknown father, born August 7, 1998, in Nikaia, Attica.
Police said the release of the suspects’ identities and photographs was authorized by a prosecutor and is intended to help identify and prosecute similar crimes that may have been committed against other victims.
Authorities said the disclosure also aims to prevent threats to public safety and protect the wider community.
Police are asking anyone with relevant information to contact the Piraeus Subdirectorate for Prosecution at 210-4174648 or the Attica Directorate for Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes at 210-6411111.
Authorities said the anonymity of callers and the confidentiality of their communications will be protected.
