Two Arrested in €12,000 Department Store Theft Case

Police say a 24-year-old woman, a minor and an alleged accomplice were involved in a series of thefts from the same store over the past two months, with stolen goods valued at around €12,000.

Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman and a minor in connection with a series of thefts from a department store in northern Greece, while a third suspect remains at large.

According to authorities, the two women entered the store on Friday morning posing as customers and allegedly stole merchandise worth approximately €300 without paying. Following an investigation and the review of available evidence, police officers located and arrested both suspects.

Investigators are also searching for a 59-year-old man who is believed to have acted as an accomplice. Police allege that he transported the two women to the store and later helped them leave the area after the theft.

Investigation Links Suspects to Earlier Thefts

As the investigation progressed, authorities concluded that the two arrested women and the 59-year-old suspect may have been involved in additional thefts from the same department store over the previous two months.

Police estimate that the total value of merchandise stolen during that period amounts to approximately €12,000.

Additional Arrest Made

Authorities also arrested the minor’s 45-year-old mother on charges related to neglect of parental supervision.

The investigation remains ongoing, with local police continuing to examine the case and gather additional evidence.

The case file is expected to be forwarded to the competent prosecutor for further legal proceedings.
