A major police operation in northern Greece has led to the dismantling of an alleged criminal gang believed to be responsible for a series of robberies, burglaries and vehicle thefts with total proceeds exceeding €200,000.
The operation, launched on the morning of May 20 by the regional Organized Crime Unit in Thessaloniki, remains ongoing as investigators continue efforts to identify and apprehend any additional members of the network.
According to preliminary information, five suspects have been arrested so far. Authorities also recovered weapons during searches carried out as part of the investigation.
Series of Alleged Crimes
Investigators believe the group was involved in multiple criminal incidents, including the robbery of a pedestrian, a commercial burglary that yielded approximately €149,000, and three residential break-ins during which cash and jewelry were stolen.
Police have also linked the suspects to the theft of a car and a motorcycle.
The total value of the gang’s alleged criminal gains is estimated to exceed €200,000.
