Μake us preferred on Google As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness and foster understanding, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) will host the Festival Alzheimer 2026 on the weekend of September 26 and 27 in Athens.
Marking World Alzheimer’s Day (on September 21) and World Alzheimer’s Month, observed throughout September, the SNFCC teams up for the fourth year in a row with non-profit organization the Alzheimer Athens Association.
Under this year’s theme, “Innovation in Dementia Prevention and Management”, experts will discuss personalized and tailored prevention, the importance of early diagnosis, new disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies in non-pharmacological treatments, and support for the rights of patients and caregivers in Greece.
The two-day event will also include scientific talks and discussions with distinguished scientists and researchers; interactive workshops and seminars; free memory screenings for individuals over 60; demonstrations of rehabilitation techniques and effective communication strategies for people with dementia, led by specialized neuroscientists; public information and awareness-raising activities; presentations of innovative applications and assistive technologies; and concerts.
Alzheimer’s organizations and bodies from across Greece will also participate in Festival Alzheimer 2026, joining forces with the Athens Alzheimer’s Association in this major open initiative to raise awareness and support people living with dementia in Greece.
Events start at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, and run through to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the SNFCC Lighthouse. Admission is free. The event is held under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Health.
