A 29-year-old woman is being taken before a prosecutor in Thessaloniki after she was accused of a violent knife attack against her 24-year-old partner in the city’s Ano Poli district, causing concern among local residents.
The woman, a Romanian national, was arrested by officers from the White Tower Crime Investigation Department. A case file was filed against her on charges of attempted homicide, domestic violence and violation of weapons legislation.
According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 10:00 a.m. inside a semi-basement apartment. After an intense argument, the woman attacked the 24-year-old man using two knives.
The victim, a Greek national, suffered serious injuries to his lung, lower abdomen and hand. An ambulance from Greece’s emergency medical service EKAB transported him to Papageorgiou Hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains hospitalized.
The two knives used in the attack were seized by authorities, while a forensic examination was ordered as part of the investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
