Greek authorities have launched an investigation after the body of an unidentified woman was found floating in the Corinth Canal on Wednesday morning.
The woman was discovered shortly after 8 a.m. by officers from the local coast guard station, who immediately recovered the body from the water and brought it ashore.

She was then transferred by ambulance to Corinth General Hospital, where her death was officially confirmed.
According to the information available so far, the victim is believed to be between 40 and 45 years old. Her identity has not yet been established.
The investigation is being conducted by the Isthmia branch of the Corinth Port Authority, while an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause and circumstances of her death.
Authorities have not released further details as inquiries remain ongoing.
