A dominating but ultimately goal-less Olympiacos FC failed to overcome “Cinderella” team Pafos on Wednesday in their opening game of this season’s Champions League play.
The Greek champions only managed a 0-0 home draw against a 10-man Pafos side – since the 26th minute – after forward Bruno was dismissed when he received a second red card for a harsh foul against the host team’s Lorenzo Pirola.
The Cypriot team’s debut in the league phase of the Champions League saw the club come away with a precious one point after a spirited defensive effort, which at times, however, relied on rough play.
