Parnassus Beyond the Slopes: Autumn Campaign Showcases Hidden Side of the Mountain

Parnassos reveals its autumn charm as Amfikleia–Elateia launches a new campaign promoting authentic rural experiences to Greek and international visitors.

The Municipality of Amfikleia–Elateia is continuing its medium-term strategy to promote year-round rural tourism with the launch of three thematic videos highlighting the area’s signature autumn events and outdoor experiences. Produced under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), the campaign invites visitors to discover a lesser-known side of the legendary Mount Parnassus, one of the country’s highest mountains, under the slogan, “Parnassus, Differently!”

The videos encourage travelers to experience the mountain beyond its winter reputation, showcasing authentic seasonal activities set against the vibrant colors of autumn. The campaign targets both domestic and international audiences, with all promotional videos subtitled in English and Italian.

In addition to reaching the broad English-speaking market, the municipality has also focused on Italian visitors following its recent twinning agreement with the Province of Biella in Italy’s renowned Piedmont region.

The wide range of cultural and outdoor events held throughout the autumn plays a key role in highlighting the area’s rich cultural heritage and natural environment. The festivals and activities offer opportunities for visitors and residents alike to gather, learn, celebrate, explore and share authentic local experiences.

Mayor Athanasia Stivakti said the municipality possesses a unique tourism product within easy reach of Attica, one of Greece’s largest tourism markets and a gateway for thousands of domestic and international visitors. Given this strategic advantage, she stressed that targeted tourism promotion is essential to unlock the area’s full potential and establish it as a year-round destination.
