Iran has formulated its response to recent ceasefire proposals delivered through intermediaries, the country’s foreign ministry said on Monday.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran has set out its position and demands, which have already been communicated via intermediary channels.
Iran rejects pressure-based negotiations
Baghaei said negotiations were “incompatible with ultimatums and threats to commit war crimes,” stressing that Iran’s approach is based on what it considers its national interests.
He added that previous proposals, including what he described as a 15-point plan from the United States, were rejected as “excessive.”
Tehran says demands reflect national interests
According to Baghaei, Iran has made clear its expectations in response to the ongoing diplomatic efforts, and these positions should not be interpreted as compromise.
“We have formulated our own responses,” he said, adding that further details would be announced at a later stage.
Ongoing ceasefire diplomacy continues
The statement comes amid continued international efforts to broker a ceasefire between Iran and the United States through intermediary channels.
Iran said its position has been conveyed through those channels as discussions over a potential agreement continue.
