The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed it killed Iran’s newly appointed Chief of Staff, Ali Shadmani, during airstrikes on Tuesday, as ongoing hostilities between the two belligerents continued.

The IDF says Shadmani was killed during a precision overnight airstrike on a manned headquarters located in central Tehran.

Iranian news agency Nour reported that three people were killed during Israeli overnight airstrikes in the city of Kashan in the province of Isfahan, citing the region’s security governor.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has announced that civilians across the country are now permitted to leave bomb shelters, following a wave of Iranian missile attacks early Tuesday morning.

“Search and Rescue forces are operating in multiple locations across the country where missile impacts have been reported,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated.

One incident involved a bus, reportedly empty at the time, which was struck and engulfed in flames in the coastal city of Herzliya. A municipal spokesperson said the strike occurred in a parking area where security personnel and city workers were present.

Emergency responders were dispatched to several reported impact sites. However, no injuries have been reported so far, according to Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency medical service.

Meanwhile, on the diplomatic front, the foreign ministers of 20 Arab and Muslim countries have condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran and called for de-escalation, according to a joint statement reported by Egypt’s state news agency MENA.

U.S. President Donald Trump, who returned to Washington, DC, from the G7 Summit in Canada, rejected French President Emmanuel Macron’s claims he was working on a ceasefire. Trump, on his Truth Social platform, stated Macron was “wrong” and was seeking to be in the spotlight.

China’s embassy in Israel urged its citizens to depart as soon as possible.
