The weather in Greece is expected to take a turn for the worst, as a “mini autumn” is forecast in the coming hours with rain and thunderstorms, according to a social media post by meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafilias.
He noted that “thermal storms followed by a low-pressure system will bring a mini autumn,” while rain and thunderstorms are forecast for both today and Tuesday during the warmer hours of the day across mainland Greece and Crete, mainly in mountainous areas.
Hailstorms are also a possibility, with temperatures around 5–6 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average, and northerly winds will reach up to 6 Beaufort.
According to Tsatrafilias, Wednesday and Thursday will be marked by limited instability. Temperatures will reach up to 24°C, and northerly winds will continue at up to 6 Beaufort.
On Friday and Saturday, a new low-pressure system will bring more rain and dust. Thunderstorms are expected in most areas, while strong southerly winds and temperatures reaching 30°C will be seen in Crete.
