The Bernier/Eliades Gallery will host Empty Hums, the first solo exhibition in Athens by visual artist Antrea Tzourovits in collaboration with the gallery, opening on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The exhibition will run until April 4 and will open to the public with a reception from 19:00 to 21:00, attended by the artist.

Antrea Tzourovits

Tzourovits, whose practice focuses on sculpture and installation, presents a new body of work rooted in manual labor, personal experience and memory. His work explores materiality, structure and corporeality, activating space as an experiential field rather than a static setting.

The exhibition revisits questions that have long preoccupied the artist, seeking a balance between sculpture and painting, two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, functionality and abstraction, as well as interior, exterior and transitional spaces. His post-minimalist approach emphasizes the handmade, physical presence, emotional charge and intensity of touch as essential elements of the creative process.

The title Empty Hums reflects these ideas. “Hums” refers not to sound, but to an intermediate state of uncertainty filled with potential, while “Empty” signals the artist’s intention to avoid fixed narratives. The works resemble familiar forms yet remain deliberately unresolved, existing between “something-like” and “nothing specific,” and resisting clear definition.
