In a world where images travel faster than ever, the International Micro μ Festival continues to redefine how cinema is experienced and shared. As stated in the announcement for its 16th edition, the short film festival has consistently reshaped viewing practices through its distinctive multi-city format, simultaneous screenings, and a live, actively engaged audience network.
Since its inception, the festival has introduced a new model of exhibition—one that connects multiple cities at once and transforms each screening into a shared, participatory event. This approach has helped build a dynamic cinematic community that extends across locations and audiences in real time.
Now entering its 16th year, the International Micro μ Festival is once again inviting creators from around the world to share their short stories with its audience. In 2026, the experience evolves further, remaining a living, adaptive platform that brings filmmakers and viewers together while making space for fresh ideas, diverse narratives, and contemporary cinematic voices.
Selected films will travel simultaneously across a network of cities, turning each screening into a collective cultural moment throughout Greece.
Submissions for IMμF 2026 are now open in three categories: Greek Competition, International Competition, and Student Competition. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work by July 31, 2026.
The announcement of participating host cities will follow the close of submissions, with the festival culminating in a live awards ceremony broadcast across the entire network.
Further information, full terms, and submission guidelines are available on the official website of the Micro μ Festival at www.micromfestival.gr.
