Athens-born director Yorgos Lanthimos, whose film “Poor Things” clinched four Oscar Awards earlier this year, will be releasing his latest new project “Kinds of Kindness” this summer.

Featuring Emma Stone, who won an Academy Award for her leading role in “Poor Things”, the new project was filmed in New Orleans in 2022 and also stars Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe among others.

The screenplay of the triptych fable was written by Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou. Also Greek, Filippou has worked with Lanthimos co-writing the screenplays for Dogtooth (2009), Alps (2011), The Lobster (2015), and The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017).

The film, initially titled “And”, is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on June 21 by Searchlight Pictures.

Lanthimos’ previous film “Poor Things”, also featuring Stone, clinched four Academy Awards: for best makeup and hairstyling, best production design, best costume design, and best actress.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated Lanthimos last month, saying that his pioneering work reflects “a Greece of continuous exploration, creativity, and advancement”.
