Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, the 25th U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, presented her credentials to President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, in a formal ceremony at the Presidential Mansion.
She was accompanied by members of the American diplomatic mission and escorted to the ceremonial hall by Lieutenant Athanasios Noulas of the Presidential Guard.

The private meeting between President Tasoulas and Ambassador Guilfoyle lasted for more than half an hour. Beforehand, the two exchanged light remarks about the media’s keen attention to her arrival. “As you can see, there’s been great anticipation for your arrival—just look at the photographers,” the president said with a smile.
Ambassador Guilfoyle expressed her delight at returning to Greece, calling it a “wonderful experience.” She revealed a personal connection to the country, recalling that she had covered the 2004 Athens Olympic Games for ABC and even spent her honeymoon in Greece with her first husband.

“Have you ever been to Greece before?” the President asked. “Yes,” Guilfoyle replied warmly. “I had my honeymoon here—a wonderful honeymoon, though…” prompting Tasoulas to interject humorously, “The honeymoon was wonderful.”
The President inquired whether her honeymoon had been in Athens or the islands. “Both,” she said, naming Hydra, Corfu, Mykonos, and Santorini among her destinations.

She also shared that she began studying ancient Greek history at the age of 18, under the guidance of Professor Spyridakis.
Following the credential ceremony, Ambassador Guilfoyle is scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Giorgios Gerapetritis, while on Wednesday she will be received by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
