Work of an informal and expanded meeting on the Cyprus issue, to be convened under the chairmanship of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, was set to commence on Wednesday afternoon (local time) in New York.
At last report, besides Guterres, the meeting will be attended by Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community, Ersin Tatar, the foreign ministers of Greece and Turkey, George Gerapetritis and Hakan Fidan, respectively, and the UK’s Minister of State for Europe, Stephen Dowty.

The UN chief will first host a working dinner for the participants at the UN headquarters building in Manhattan.
On Thursday Guterres was set to hold bilateral consultations with the delegations of each side at the UN building, while a one-on-one meeting with Christodoulides is scheduled in the morning.
Afterwards, the heads of delegations, accompanied by another member of the delegation, will participate in a working lunch.
