Μake us preferred on Google Ruling New Democracy (ND) party holds a 9.9-percentage-point lead over the newly formed Greek Left Alliance (EL.AS), according to a new ALCO poll presented Monday on the primetime newscast of Athens-based Alpha TV.
Center-right ND garners 24.3% in voting intention, compared with 14.4% for EL.AS, while socialist-social democrat PASOK rises to 11.1%.
The poll also records substantial dissatisfaction with the current Mitsotakis government, with 67% of respondents saying they want a change in government. At the same time, however, the findings indicate that opposition leaders have not matched Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in trust ratings: Mitsotakis posts 27%, compared with 14.5% for Alexis Tsipras and 12.5% for PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis on the question of who is more qualified for the post of prime minister.
Regarding the government’s performance, 58% say they are not at all satisfied, while 21% are somewhat satisfied and 20% are very or fairly satisfied. The poll also found limited satisfaction with the government’s measures, as announced at the Thessaloniki International Fair earlier this month, with respondents broadly skeptical about their impact on household finances.
The voting-intention figures remain broadly similar to ALCO’s previous survey, with ND edging up from 24% to 24.3%, EL.AS declining from 14.7% to 14.4% and PASOK rising from 10.4% to 11.1%.
