A new nationwide poll by MRB Hellas shows the ruling New Democracy party remaining first in voter preference, though with only a single-digit lead over the newly established E.L.A.S. party of former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. PASOK ranks third, while citizens identify rising prices, healthcare, and low incomes as the country’s most pressing concerns.

According to the poll, New Democracy leads the voting intention rankings with 23.8%, maintaining a 9.4 percentage-point advantage over E.L.A.S., which records 14.4%.

PASOK follows with 9.1%, while Hope for Democracy (Elpida) receives 7.2% and Greek Solution 7.1%. The Communist Party of Greece stands at 6%, followed by Course of Freedom with 4.1%, Voice of Reason with 2.7%, MeRA25 with 2.5%, and Democrats with 1.7%.

The poll places SYRIZA at 1.2%, New Left at 0.9%, while 1.3% of respondents say they would choose another party.

When asked about the country’s biggest challenges, regardless of whether they directly affect their personal circumstances, respondents highlighted three main issues: the cost of living, healthcare, and low wages.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis remains the most preferred choice for prime minister, leading Alexis Tsipras by 10 percentage points. Nikos Androulakis ranks third with 8.6%.

The list of preferred figures continues with Maria Karystianou, Kyriakos Velopoulos, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, Zoe Konstantopoulou, Afroditi Latinopoulou, Yanis Varoufakis, Stefanos Kasselakis, and Sokratis Famellos.

The survey also examined the possibility of a new political party being founded by former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Only 3.3% of respondents said they would “definitely” vote for such a party, while 11.9% answered “probably yes.”

By contrast, 21% said they would “probably not” support it, and 57.8% said they would “definitely not” vote for it.
