Only marginal differences, compared to results from last month, arose from a Politic firm opinion poll that was published on Wednesday, with ruling New Democracy (ND) still holding a comfortable lead over its nearest rival but at levels that would not produce a one-party government after a general election.
Main opposition PASOK party continues to figure in double-digit “territory”, while leftist SYRIZA’s continuing slide towards the ominous 3%-mark continues.
Ruling ND party is given 23.8% in the latest poll, almost unchanged from 23.9% last month. PASOK remains in second place with 13%, down from 13.2% in September 2025.
Another six or seven parties are shown entering parliament if elections were held on Sunday, all of whom were given single-digit results, with the highest being the right-wing Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) at 6.4%, down from 7.5% a month ago.
At the same time, the number of undecided votes by respondents in the poll reached 19.5%, up from 17.9% a month ago, showing a growing uncertainty on the part of the voters.
One interesting question fielded by respondents in the specific poll was the dilemma “Mitsotakis or chaos”, with the former being incumbent Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
A plurality, 42% picked “chaos”, while the answer “Mitsotakis” received 30%. Some 28% of respondents picked “other”, i.e. prospects for coalition of parties, a coalition government, an ecumenical government, or even changes in party leaders.
