Drivers traveling on Attiki Odos will face temporary traffic disruptions near the Pallini interchange from Feb. 27 through April 30 due to asphalt resurfacing works.

The measures affect the Pallini interchange (Exit Y8), a key junction in eastern Attica that serves traffic toward Rafina — one of the region’s main ferry ports — and back toward Athens. The works will be carried out in phases, with different lanes and ramps closed at different times.

What Is Changing Toward Rafina

Traffic toward Rafina will be maintained, but with significant lane restrictions depending on the phase of construction.

At various stages, authorities will implement:

  • Closure of the right lane and the deceleration lane at the Pallini interchange (Y8), with traffic continuing through the remaining lanes.
  • Closure of the middle and right lanes, as well as the deceleration lane, limiting circulation to the left lane only.
  • Temporary closure of the entrance ramp to Rafina at the interchange, with vehicles rerouted through Ymittos Ring Road (Perifereiaki Ymittou), Agiou Dimitriou Street, Pogoniou Street and Marathonos Avenue before reconnecting to the main route.

Disruptions Toward Pallini and Athens

Drivers heading toward Pallini and central Athens will also encounter phased closures and detours.

These include:

  • Temporary shutdown of acceleration and deceleration lanes at the interchange toward Athens.
  • Closure of the right lane between kilometer markers 12.125 and 11.600 in the direction of Athens.
  • Closure of a section of Ymittos Ring Road between kilometer markers 14.200 and 13.950 toward Athens.

During these closures, traffic will be diverted through surrounding roads — including Agiou Dimitriou Street, Marathonos Avenue and Pogoniou Street — before rejoining either the Pallini interchange or the Ymittos Ring Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, follow posted signage and drive with caution while the resurfacing works are underway.
