A bowel obstruction caused the death of a 35-year-old woman who collapsed and died at home two weeks after giving birth, according to an autopsy report completed by a forensic examiner.
The medical examiner concluded that the young mother died from an intestinal blockage, a condition that specialists say can be treatable if diagnosed in time.
According to the forensic assessment, the woman likely experienced severe abdominal pain, swelling, and gastrointestinal symptoms in the days leading up to her death. Those symptoms were not recognized as serious, allowing her condition to worsen rapidly and ultimately become fatal.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning. The woman was at home breastfeeding her newborn when she suddenly felt unwell. She collapsed within minutes. By the time she was transported to the hospital, she had already died.
Local police are expected to receive the official autopsy report in the coming days so it can be included in the case file that will be forwarded to the competent prosecutor.
