Greek authorities on Friday announced that a handful of online services found via the “gov.gr” platform will be off-line for several hours on Sunday due to system upgrades, and specifically the user authentication infrastructure.
The one-day suspension of services was announced by the digital governance ministry-affiliated General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance (GGPSDG).
The upgrade is scheduled to take place from 09:00 to 13:00 on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The services on gov.gr that will be temporarily unavailable: are
The national communication registry that allows an update of registered users’ contact details
The “Introduce Yourself” –service for registered banks
The myPhoto service
The myInfo service to register or edit information related to the Personal Identification Number, and,
The vehicle cross-check controls service
According to the announcement by the ministry, “every possible effort will be made to complete the work earlier than scheduled, in order to minimize the impact caused by the temporary unavailability of the services.”
The “gov.gr” platform has been a “god’s send” to millions of citizens and visitors in Greece, eliminating millions of hours of waiting in lines, streamlining all types of transactions with the state and local entities and allowing for instantaneous response times.
