On Thursday afternoon, the Ministry of Digital Governance released a statement informing the public that an “extensive attack from abroad” was causing connectivity issues in public services.
A DoS (Denial of Service) cyberattack on the SYZEFXIS network led to problems with the “response speed of certain applications” on gov.gr.
“Every effort is being made to restore the full functionality of the network as soon as possible,” the statement assured.
Denial of Service (DoS) attacks overwhelm targeted servers with connection requests, rendering them inoperable due to excessive traffic.
As of just before 3:00 PM, access to Taxisnet was unavailable, with users encountering an error message on the login portal.
The public sector SYZEFXIS network has been restored to “fully efficient operation,” according to an update from the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The Digital Governance Ministry released the following statement on the issue:
“Due to an extensive denial-of-service (DoS) attack from abroad on the entire SYZEFXIS public sector network, there are response speed issues affecting certain applications on gov.gr.
The problems are being addressed, and every effort is being made to restore the full functionality of the SYZEFXIS network as soon as possible.”
Syzefxis is an ongoing project of the Greek state aiming at the evolvement of the voice, video, and data infrastructure of the Public Sector in Greece.
