As time is ticking down for the Christmas holidays and shopping, the Trade Association of Athens said that the proposed opening hours during the festive season in Athens will start on December 12th.

According to the association, shops will be open daily from 9am to 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 6pm.

Which Sundays will they be open and what days will they stay closed

Stores will be open for shopping on Sunday, December 17. On the two eves (Christmas and New Year’s), which this year falls on a Sunday.

The optional store opening hours for Sundays are from 11:00am to 8:00pm, however, on New Year’s Eve, December 31, shops will be open from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

On Christmas Day; December 25th and on the 26th shops will remain closed. Monday, January 1st and Tuesday, January 2nd shops will remain closed as well.

On the occasion of the announcement of the holiday hours, the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce Stavros Kafounis said this is the most important time for the market, adding that, despite the difficulties faced by households and businesses, the new year will be welcomed with a smile and optimism.
