Three motorcyclists were arrested in Athens after performing dangerous stunts and high-speed maneuvers on one of the city’s main traffic arteries, prompting a police pursuit and intervention. The incident occurred on Athens Avenue, a major roadway connecting the capital with western suburbs and used daily by thousands of drivers.
According to authorities, the police became aware of a social media post calling for a gathering of motorcyclists at the location. In response, officers launched a surveillance operation in the area. When the riders were spotted carrying out risky maneuvers, including wheelies and sudden swerves at high speed, police followed and stopped them after a short chase.
The three young men were arrested on charges of dangerous driving and endangering road safety. Their motorcycles were confiscated, and they are expected to appear before a public prosecutor.
