A funeral service filled with grief is being held in Kato Nevrokopi, in the Drama region, for 45-year-old Antigoni, the police officer who was fatally stabbed by her 50-year-old husband.
Her coffin arrived at the Church of Saint Dimitrios draped in the Greek flag, with a Greek Police honor guard paying tribute, according to the news site voria.gr.

Among those attending the ceremony are the General Police Director of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the Police Director of Drama.
The final chapter will be written later today, at 5:30 p.m., in the village of Koudounia in Drama. That is where the 50-year-old killer, who was the victim’s husband, will be buried in his hometown. He took his own life immediately after the killing, using his service revolver.

Earlier, police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou told MEGA television that no threat had ever been reported to the department.
“When the perpetrator is a police officer, a different process is initiated within his own department. This young woman was serving at a border patrol unit. They were definitely not at the same station, and no report had ever been made to either department. Neither of them worked in a domestic violence unit. A police officer can report to his own department or to the perpetrator’s department. When abuse is involved, the process is set in motion immediately, and even more so when we are talking about a uniformed officer,” she said.
