New toll prices will take effect on the Egnatia Motorway from midnight on January 1, 2026, following the approval of the concession agreement by the Greek parliament in December. The changes coincide with the official transfer of the motorway’s operation to a private concessionaire, which begins at the start of the new year.

Under the updated pricing scheme, tolls on the Egnatia Motorway will be recalculated at a rate of €0.04 per kilometre, plus VAT. The motorway is one of Greece’s most important transport corridors, stretching across northern Greece and connecting the western port of Igoumenitsa with the eastern border area near Evros, along with several vertical routes linking neighboring regions.

According to official figures, the total toll cost for a passenger car traveling the full length of the motorway—from Igoumenitsa to Evros—will increase to €30.45, up from €24.45 currently. The calculation includes all main toll stations along the route. At the same time, existing discounted subscription schemes offered through the EgnatiaPass system will no longer apply.

Free toll passage will continue for a limited period of two years, but only for permanent residents living within the geographical areas served by the Egnatia Motorway.
