Early Monday morning, a violent shooting unfolded at a grill restaurant in Agios Dimitrios, a suburb of Athens, leaving a father and son injured. The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. when a masked gunman entered the establishment on Agoniston Polytechniou Street and opened fire.

Both victims were shot in the legs and were immediately transported to the Palaiou Faliro Medical Center, where doctors report they are in stable condition and not in danger.

After the attack, the gunman fled the scene and joined two accomplices waiting outside in an SUV, and the trio drove away.

Authorities noted that the 39-year-old owner, one of the victims, is known to law enforcement. He was previously arrested in June 2025 as an alleged leader of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and arson attacks. Past incidents include ambushes outside his home and prior attacks near his business.
