An emergency response was launched at Korydallos Prison in Greece after a fire broke out inside one of the facility’s wings, causing tension and unrest among inmates.
According to initial information, the incident led to a disturbance among prisoners and prompted the immediate mobilization of authorities.
The unrest was reportedly triggered by Turkish inmates following the transfer of a fellow Turkish national, according to To Vima.
Firefighters and Police Respond
Strong firefighting forces were deployed to the correctional facility to extinguish the blaze, while a large presence of police officers and prison staff was established both inside and outside the prison to restore order and ensure safety in the surrounding area.
