Greek police have uncovered an organized burglary ring accused of targeting luxury homes and stealing valuables worth millions of euros, including watches valued at more than €1.5 million.
Investigators from the police unit responsible for crimes against life and property identified four suspects, including the alleged leader of the group, who is already serving a prison sentence in connection with similar cases.
The case file includes three foreign nationals aged 40, 33 and 26, as well as a 23-year-old Greek woman who is believed to have played a supporting role in the operation.
Sophisticated Burglaries Targeted Luxury Homes
According to police, the group operated under what authorities described as a form of “criminal tourism,” with members traveling to Greece from abroad, staying for short periods and carrying out targeted burglaries at upscale properties.
Investigators found that the suspects used rental vehicles, forged travel documents, masks and gloves during their operations. They allegedly stayed in short-term rental apartments booked using the identities of third parties.
Police say the group selected targets after conducting surveillance, focusing primarily on luxury villas. Once they confirmed that residents were away, they allegedly entered the properties and stole high-value items.
Authorities noted that the suspects appeared to possess advanced burglary skills, allowing them to gain access to homes without leaving obvious signs of forced entry.
Watches and Jewelry Among Main Targets
The group is accused of stealing luxury watches, jewelry and other valuable items, which were then allegedly sold through receivers of stolen goods.
So far, investigators have linked the suspects to a major burglary carried out in December 2025 at a luxury residence in the Attica region. During that break-in, luxury watches and other valuables with a total estimated value exceeding €1.5 million were stolen.
During a search of the 23-year-old suspect’s residence, police reportedly found forged travel documents, a passport bearing the alleged leader’s details, money transfer records, and expensive women’s accessories and jewelry.
