Greek authorities are investigating a shocking murder in Nea Peramos after the body of a young man was found bound and shot in a local stream. The discovery followed his mysterious disappearance earlier this month.

The victim, who lived with his partner in Elefsina, went missing on the morning of January 26. According to his partner, he had returned from an internet café and rang the doorbell after forgetting his keys, but never entered their apartment. When he failed to return, she searched for him, discovering that his phone was turned off.

Security camera footage proved crucial to the investigation. Video shows four individuals dressed in dark clothing restraining the victim outside his home and forcing him into a car. One of the suspects appeared to be armed. A check of the license plates found the vehicle had been reported stolen from Thessaloniki.

After the abduction, there were no signs of life from the 27-year-old and no contact with his family or associates requesting ransom. That absence of communication raised concerns early on and weakened the scenario of a kidnapping for ransom.

Investigators now believe at least four people took part in the abduction. According to the latest information, the perpetrators allegedly tried to burn the body in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence but failed.

Police are focusing on a possible financial motive and are closely examining the victim’s professional environment, as well as his personal contacts. Authorities continue to analyze security footage frame by frame and collect witness statements as they work to identify the suspects and clarify the motive behind the killing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
