Greek police are continuing an extensive investigation to locate the so-called “Lycabettus predator,” the man accused of attacking a 22-year-old woman on Mount Lycabettus, in central Athens. The assault has caused alarm among residents and prompted heightened police activity in the area.

According to information, authorities have launched targeted operations, deploying undercover officers—primarily women in plain clothes—positioned at key points around Lycabettus in an effort to lure and identify the suspect.

Police have also circulated a sketch of the attacker, describing him as slim, dark-haired, possibly of foreign origin, and approximately 1.60 to 1.70 meters tall. He is said to have been wearing a khaki shirt and black trousers at the time of the attack.

It is recalled that the 22-year-old woman was assaulted while returning from work in the Lycabettus area. The attacker pushed her to the ground, but despite being in shock, she is reported to be in good physical condition, having sustained only minor injuries.

“I felt him grab me around the waist”

The young woman, who managed to escape from the assailant, spoke exclusively to MEGA television, describing in detail how the attack unfolded and how she managed to avoid further harm.

“I was returning from work, around 9:30 in the evening. I was walking on Lycabettus, on the small path heading downhill. I was on the phone with my partner at the time,” the 22-year-old said.

“Suddenly, I felt his hand grab me around the waist and try to pull me toward him. I fell to the ground and he attacked me again, grabbing me once more,” she added. “I managed to get up, I pushed him away and started running. I slid down the slope and ended up on the road. Luckily, no car was passing at that moment, because I could have been hit.”
