A hypnotherapist questioned in the investigation into the death of Greek singer Giorgos Mazonakis told reporters Monday that he had met the singer only once, shortly before his death.
The hypnotherapist spent approximately three hours at the investigating magistrate’s office. According to the report, he had received a photograph of Mazonakis from the doctor who is accused in connection with the singer’s death.
After leaving the magistrate’s office, the hypnotherapist briefly addressed reporters gathered outside. Asked about his contact with Mazonakis, he said they had met on the Monday before the singer’s death.
He described their meeting as simply “a conversation, an introduction.”

The hypnotherapist then criticized the journalists outside, saying: “I would ask you to stop defaming me and yourselves, because you are also being defamed. Thank you for humiliating me and making me known throughout Greece.”
His lawyer, Ioannis Glykas, said the investigation is confidential and that no details could be disclosed.
“My client is a witness and came voluntarily before the magistrate to contribute to the investigation,” Glykas said.
Clinic employees to testify
Four female employees from the medical clinic on Karneadou Street are expected to testify before the magistrate in the coming days.
Their statements are considered significant because there are discrepancies over the time Mazonakis arrived at the clinic and what the employees saw and heard during his treatment.
The emergency responders from EKAB, Greece’s emergency medical service, who transported the singer from the clinic are also expected to give statements.
According to the report, the responders initially did not know the identity of the patient they were transporting because the two doctors allegedly refused to accompany him and did not provide information about his identity.
Woman who arranged appointment
Investigators are also examining the role of another person who may have information relevant to the case.
According to MEGA, a woman from Mazonakis’ professional circle contacted the hypnotherapist by phone twice and arranged an appointment for the singer. The appointment ultimately did not take place.
The woman could now be called to testify before the magistrate.
Investigators examine phone records
Authorities are also examining mobile phones as part of the investigation.
The lifting of telecommunications confidentiality is expected to show who communicated with whom while Mazonakis was at the clinic in Kolonaki, where the events surrounding his death took place.
According to the report, the phones belonging to the two doctors show specific activity during the relevant hours at the clinic.
The investigation is seeking to establish the sequence of events surrounding the singer’s death, including what happened during his time at the clinic.
Separate financial investigation
A parallel investigation is also examining the financial affairs of the couple connected to the case.
Authorities are examining real estate, bank deposits and expensive jewelry that the two accused individuals had displayed.
